In Style: A Beautiful Reflection on Creation

2

On being simply smitten with pink this week, I brought with me a beautiful fuchsia artisan tie-dye print adjustable beach lounger maxi dress (similar here) while on vacation.  Combining it with natural tribal round Capiz shell necklace and earrings (similar options here, post on tribal accessories here) and semi-transparent jelly sandal shoes (these shoes became a fad in the mid-1980s but recently made a comeback with newer styles).

Pink is a dynamic, versatile color that can bring out a wide range of moods.  The beach at Turtle Bay was pristine and it made me go into a reflective mood.  The solitude of my much-awaited journey to some wonderful rest and relaxation appears to be suitable for it.

I reflected on the direction of where God is leading me and all the blessings He has outpoured since I’ve decided to put God first in my life. It made me think that because of his abundant generosity, I want to pay it forward to others. But sometimes, because of the earthly wanderlust and the busyness of life, it is easy to forget all of God’s gifts.

Genesis 1:1,31a “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth… And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.”

Awestruck by the great power of God who ordered and things came to be, I came to realize that Genesis shows us that in spite of the sublime beauty that surrounds us, humanity is still the crown of God’s creation.

Who created us?
God created us.

Why did God create us?
God created us to show forth His goodness, and to point and share with us His everlasting happiness in heaven, so that we can one day partake in it.

Psalm 104: 24-25 “How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number-living things both large and small.”

We were made by God with a vision – to live in the friendship with Him in our life. As companions, human beings (you & I) are created to reflect God’s image and likeness.

Genesis 1:26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

God made brilliant beings so that in our freedom, we are able to give back the same love that we have been given.  Our place in the creation story is extraordinary.

I enjoy reflecting on the creation story in Genesis. It reminds me of all the gifts, talents and treasure that God has granted on me. Thank you God :)

I pray that everyone recognizes all the good in their lives and to give thanks. What are you thankful for? Have you had the time to slow down and reflect on your life? Comment and let me know!
