One of these alluring moments came to me as I was standing at the topmost point of the island of Santorini in Greece, being accommodated by the best hotel in the island: Voreina Gallery Suites. A Villa on Top of Santorini
Voreina Gallery Suites prevails at the highest point of the island of Santorini in a Grecian village called Pyrgos, one of the best-preserved medieval settlements on the island of Santorini. One’s dream vacation truly waits as each room in the hotel features its own private infinity pool. Additionally, the infinity pool also has a Jacuzzi built into it. How cool is that? Relaxing in the pool was certainly maximized when paired with its vantage point. I was so blessed to experience this during my trip to Greece. The privileged location of the village of Pyrgos overlooks the entire island in great scope, offering all-encompassing, sweeping views of the sunset and the Cycladic archipelago. Looking across the horizon, with the Santorini crater cliffs on the left and the beaches on the right, I truly felt the authentic existence of the loveliness of the island.
Art in Voreina
Like many European cities, Greece prides itself for its richness of artistic talents. Voreina is an insatiable supporter of local artists in the island. The hotel’s concept of “habitable gallery” is crystal clear through its vision of giving their guests the opportunity to relate to the artworks featured all over their villas in a way that may not be possible in a different art space. Benefiting as a cultural meeting point, Voreina offers their guests a unique perspective of Santorini. As a guest here, I can truly say that being surrounded with local art in a comfortable and luxurious setting heightened my already elevated feelings for the island. Voreina just sets the ambiance so artfully with its approach in decorating their villas with magnificent artworks with a distinct and unique “feel”.

Imagine yourself waking up each day with far-reaching and scenic views of Santorini’s expansive island coupled with the infinite blues of the Caldera. Some words to describe the feelings I had of this all-embracing view I had in our villa are: Perfection, fulfillment, quality, completeness, sublimity, beauty, charmed and enchantment. I probably could think of more words, but I think I’ve expressed myself clearly enough of how exquisite the villas at Voreina Gallery Suites are.
World Class Facilities
As a world-class hotel (a list of Hollywood celebrities have often stayed here quite frequently but I can’t list who as they take their clients privacy very seriously), you can be assured that their luxury villas are uniquely designed to exceed each and every one of your expectations as well as accommodate your individual needs. I have a very particular and elegant taste and I could sincerely say it exceeded mine! Each villa has its own character combining unique artwork and bright color palettes. They offer fully equipped kitchens, large private swimming pools, large shower rooms and can accommodate up to 5 guests! Believe me, upon entering our villa, it almost made me feel that our families could have stayed here comfortably as the villa had two guest bedrooms, two shower rooms (one inside and another outside by the private pool), a full kitchen, dining and living areas. Our villa also featured a spacious private veranda where we enjoyed breakfast by the scenic pool. The entire property is well equipped with modern technology. The best part was that the master’s bedroom had a private door leading up to the infinity pool area. I certainly had a good night’s sleep with an amorous view of the idyllic Santorini lights being illuminated from the bedroom. Waking up with the same wondrous view made me feel like I woke up to a dream. Our world is so splendid, grand and handsome!
Perfect Home Away from Home
My time away from home was absolutely made more captivating by the endearing ambiance Voreina Gallery Suites created for my stay. The customer service was truly accommodating. The owners of these well-managed and decorated hotels are usually business minded people. Lefteris Zorzos, the owner of this amazing hotel, has all that in addition to his passion for his island. He is also a professional anthropologist and a contributor to the studies of the local historical ruin, Akrotiri. It is said that Akrotiri inspired the story of Atlantis, as this society was able to identify and efficiently evade the upcoming eruption of the nearby volcano. It was this eruption that ultimately caused Santorini to have the form it has now. There will be more about what we learned from Lefteris and our visit to Akrotiri in another blog post. One of the most noteworthy points of my time here was during my gratifying full-body massage experience while overlooking the majestic full-blown Santorini seascape. There was just that transcendent sense of peace that overcame me as I was being massaged by one their expert therapists. The natural Greek breakfast delivered to my villa every morning at the designated time I mentioned upon checking in was made up of organic Greek cheese, authentic Greek yogurt with honey, fresh juices, an array of delicious fruits and pastries. It was designed to make any traveler be touched of the simple joys that came staying in an authentic Greek village like Pyrgos and a beautiful hotel such as Voreina Gallery Suites.
Nightly as I lay down in one of Voreina Gallery Suite’s softest and most comfortable beds, I couldn’t help but think about how much I want the world to know of this impressive place. The boundless scenes that one will view upon arrival are just unsurpassable. This is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world. The best thing about this destination is that Voreina Gallery Suites is truly for travelers seeking for a serene holiday spot, away from the dramatic tourist areas that can sometimes be overwhelming. This home away from home is for those who appreciate a bona fide Grecian experience. I will be forever grateful to Voreina Gallery Suites for allowing me to experience real and genuine sophistication, one that has simply enthralled me. Their honest and sincere depiction of comfort and art is pure genius. Don’t think twice. Voreina Gallery Suites is a place you would want to truly relax during your stay here. I honestly feel that Voreina Gallery Suites is a tourist destination in itself. My entire experience at this villa was nothing less than superb.
