Tutu Dress: Life is Fun!

0

When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with tutus and ballet.  I remember dancing in either en pointe or demi-pointe in ballet class where my friends and I hung around the barre or centre floor while waiting for Ms. Liza, our instructor.  As a child, she was the most graceful woman I know.

Classic Carrie Bradshaw: The Pink Ballerina Tutu

In recent years, my ballet fascination consisted of my love for pink, colored tights in fall, and donning my reliable Tory Burch ballet flats to work.  I definitely have not forgotten the iconic tutu dress Carrie Bradshaw adorned on the very first episode of Sex and the City.  In my opinion, it is creative genius to fuse a little girl’s lovable tutu dress into a refined 40-year old woman’s ensemble.  Ah, to look young and sophisticated at the same time!

In each Sex and the City episode, their love lives were as adventurous and stunning as their wardrobe. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte & Miranda possessed an attitude that I feel we all need to have.  That in spite all tribulations that come (like those wasted years over that guy {your own Mr. Big} who was never ready, or maybe you unexpectedly became a single mother {Miranda, is that you?}, or even simply by wearing those painful shoes you wore the other day that almost cut the back of your ankles to shreds), we all need to have the faith to remain young at heart. ♥

Sooner or later, we will discover that simple, child-like and mysterious secret known to some:  Life is fun!

I think that was the real genius in that show (and in life).

Childlike faith. It believes the most amazing things.

Matthew 18: 10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.”

{This post is dedicated in loving memory of Adrian J. O’Brien, who possessed a child-like faith, a man of God… on the 40th day of his passing) †
