On sunny days like this, I enjoy spending time in lovely parks and gardens that are somewhat sparse in Los Angeles. Here, I am at the Los Angeles River Center & Garden. It is definitely a hidden gem! I can’t believe a beautiful Spanish-inspired courtyard like this exists so close to downtown LA. Once you enter the main gate, you are taken away to a breathtaking sanctuary.
One of my favorite outfit themes is centered around the buttery tan camel color. It never fails to sweep the runways each season. Come to think of it, I’ve always liked camel as far back as when I was in my teens. There is just something so elegant and chic about this subtle yet elegant color.
One of the easiest ways to introduce camel is with a topper. Whether a blouse, coat, jacket, poncho or trench, choices are certainly plentiful! A breezy chiffon camel button down tunic was my top of choice.
Camel is so prevalent that you can find great, less expensive alternatives everywhere. I scored my elegant blouse for just about $12. My necklace is handmade by a jeweler and is made of natural stones. Oh, I just love statement necklaces.

Now, let’s not forget the essential accessories—the easy way to update any outfit. My YSL Muse Two handbag is an easy pick. It’s soft, grainy leather makes it the perfect accent to the outfit!
Complimenting the quiet charms of camel with my jewelry, I chose a cognac-colored quartz ring set in 14k yellow gold. Black enamel was handcrafted to its setting creating that “leopard print” design.
Whether you make an investment in a simple blouse, a versatile jewelry accessory, or a fabulous handbag, camel is definitely a color worth having in your wardrobe this hot Summer season.
I definitely enjoyed spending time here. What a great respite in the heart of the city! Beautiful mission-style buildings and gorgeous fountains to sit around. This place couldn’t have been more perfect! Simply old Los Angeles at its best!
