Appetizing Amarone, Singapore

My adventures in Singapore have definitely been an amazing experience.

It has led me to relaxing in Sentosa Island, got me cultured in curry at The Curry Culture, and now here, at a fanciful place called Ristorante Amarone.

Established in Singapore’s dynamic and contemporary business district at the Capital Tower lies a quintessential Italian restaurant called Amarone. Its name pays tribute to a type of wine from Italy’s Verona region. The restaurant was bustling when I arrived. I looked around and saw seasoned executives and entrepreneurs just about to finish their lunch before heading back to their respective offices. I was pleasantly surprised that though Singaporean cuisine is predominantly Asian, this little Italian Restaurant seemed to be prosperous this midday.

I’ve always been a fan of restaurants in urban metropolitan enterprise areas. Amarone was everything an urban restaurant should be. I adore the casual elegance of their ambience fused in with the quaint, European atmosphere.

Having been to Italy, lived in both Europe & Asia, and now having traveled to Singapore, it is amazing to discover restaurants like Amarone that brings a little bit of the west to the east.

Word on the street was Amarone was favored among locals. I was thrilled to be here and was pleasantly surprised as my starter arrived, a Burrata Pugliese Mixed Salad with Parma Ham and Melon. Though the salad looked unassuming, believe me when I say that it was honestly one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Evidently, I’ve learned today in Amarone that burrata cheese is a game changer and makes everything taste like heaven. The melon tasted sweet, the tomatoes were excellent, and the cheese was fantastic. More please!

In Italy, several pasta dishes always followed soups and salads. In Amarone, I was able to sample the Linguine with Lobster and cherry tomatoes, the Porcini Mushroom Tortellini with butter and sage and the Adriatic Seafood Ravioli in tomato sauce.

The linguine with lobster was sweet and light, while the porcini mushroom tortellini was creamy and rich tasting.

The Adriatic seafood ravioli, likewise, was amazingly tasty.

As a sweet treat, I sampled their Pistachio of Sicily ice cream, which possibly, is the best ice cream of my life!

I do adore pistachio so I could most likely be biased though this one, I must say, is certainly special. The Panna Cotta with Fruits of the Forest is also a personal favorite.
